What appealed to us were the interesting house designs, exterior look, good lots and small, protected development... It’s a "vacation-like" feel, with sounds and sights of nature in this pocket of homes by the golf course and undeveloped land.
We were the "pioneers" in the new Carandale development - the first to move in mid February 2008. Our family had been coming to the Collingwood area for over 20 years to ski, hike and enjoy the area. When we joined the empty-nester club, we chose this area to move to and eventually retire. We discovered Mair Mills and Falcon Chase on a weekend getaway. What appealed to us were the interesting house designs, exterior look, good lots and small, protected development.
We really enjoy the area and got to ski this winter as "locals". The mountain is 5 minutes one way and the waterfront, walking trails and town are 5 minutes the other. It’s a “vacation-like” feel, with sounds and sights of nature in this pocket of homes by the golf course and undeveloped land. Working with Faith Tomney and the builders - Carlo, Michael, and Marco - was a positive experience. Our home went from artist’s concept to foundation to a real house, and we felt at home as soon as we moved in. We look forward to having our new neighbours, family and friends visit.
